Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a special, minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat joint problems. The procedure involves inserting a small camera and precise instruments into the animal's joint through a tiny incision. A major advantage of arthroscopy is that we can examine joint structures and possible injuries under magnification. Because of its minimally invasive nature, the procedure results in faster recovery and less pain. Once an accurate diagnosis has been made, any necessary treatment, such as the removal of cartilage lesions, is carried out.

Arthroscopy is most often recommended for the following conditions:

  • Treatment of elbow joint dysplasia (FCP, UAP, OCD)
  • Shoulder joint OCD (cartilage detachment) and biceps tendonitis
  • Knee joint problems: anterior cruciate ligament tears, meniscus injuries, OCD, arthrosis, etc.
  • Ankle joint OCD
  • Hip joint diseases (DP)
